Get a Grip with the Grid Method

The grid method is a tried and true, low-tech way to reproduce an image that you want to paint or draw onto another surface. It is a great way to enlarge a small photo onto a larger canvas without the use of transfer paper. The concept of the grid method is to break your image into small even sections using a grid, and then drawing an equal ratio grid onto your canvas or paper. When sketching your image onto your canvas, focus on one square at a time, until the whole image is reproduced. Before painting, either erase your grid lines, or simply paint right over them.
