X-LIFE #17 Lightweight Chiseling Blade

X617

The X-ACTO X-LIFE line features blades that are designed for an extended life and maximum performance. Each blade is oxidized to preserve the blade’s edge and prevents rusting. The X-LIFE series is available with several of our most popular blade models.

The #17 Lightweight Chiseling Blade by X-ACTO is a precision chiseling tool, meant to handle lightweight woods and like materials. The chisel has a straight, razor sharp blade with a thin profile – perfect for removing fine layers and performing detail work on delicate craft material.

The X-ACTO #17 Lightweight Chiseling Blade is designed to work with the following materials:

  • Soft wood
  • Linoleum
  • Plastics
  • And more

X-ACTO blades are designed to allow you to make the careful and detailed cuts you need time and time again. Our blades are created with care and exceptional craftsmanship, producing a cutting edge that stays sharp. An X-ACTO quality blade is always ready when you need it.

The original X-ACTO knife has been praised for more than 50 years as the standard for precision. Attaining this level of precision, accuracy and reliability starts with supreme quality craftsmanship. X-ACTO knife blades are crafted with sharpened carbon steel for a reliable cut and a strong blade. X-ACTO knife blades fit with most X-ACTO knife models.

Getting a Clean Straight Cut

Your X-ACTO craft knife is invaluable when making clean cuts in paper, but when you need to make straight cut lines, it is best to have a couple of other tools to work in tandom with your knife. A self-healing mat of course adds the perfect surface allowing you to apply to correct amount of pressure when cutting without harming your work area. Along with a good self-healing mat, a straight-edged stainless steel ruler is essential. The ruler allows you to use the hard edge as a guide without nicking the ruler as you cut along your straight line. You should have a firm grip on our knife, without squeezing too tightly. One hand should be steady on the straight edge, and the other guiding the knife to perform a perfect straight cut every time.
